Huge Waves and Fun with machetes! July 24, 2008

Hi everyone, and welcome back to Nica Land. For those who are just joining us, my name is Kassidy, and my good friend Chanelle and I are committed to showing you the land that Dale's been telling you about, and what's happenin' down here in Nicaragua.

Since this whole thing started because of the surf, we have to give props to our sister company, Dale Dagger Surf Tours (NicaSurf.com). Dale has been taking people surfing in Central America since 1978, and for 15 years here in Nicaragua. Because of his pioneering spirit, we are all here livin' it up and riding the breaks that he coined back when he was the only one in the water.

We had a major storm hit us last week out of New Zealand, and as a result the waves were firing triple overhead all week at Panga drops. The swell barely missed the surf contest at Popoyo and continued up until yesterday. We had some acoustic guitar jams at the surf lodge in between sessions with our resident southern boy & volunteer, Brian,who just celebrated his 23rd birthday with us . We all busted out a few tunes... I think there was even a little Poison "Every rose has it's thorn" in there too. If your ever feelin' like you just want to get away and chill in a surf lodge on the beach with boats at your fingertips to surf your brains out....then come visit ol' Tommy Taylor and Dale and the rest of our crew over in Gigante.

And now about the Land!
We've got gorgeous new hilltop lots in the Prana del Sol development. Chanelle and I walked the rain saturated land and chopped the property lines with our machetes- Nica style. Ok, maybe Chanelle cut a few, and I took pictures, and actually Rodolfo, the cuidador of the property, did most of the chopping...but we are still out there getting dirty for y'all! The water guys are busy putting in four wells, and the place is flourishing with greenery, monkeys, and butterflies.
